Posed or Lifestyle

When booking a newborn session, it's important to choose the style that best fits your vision and comfort. I offer two beautiful options: posed newborn sessions and lifestyle newborn sessions — each with its own unique approach.

Posed newborn sessions focus on styled, gently posed portraits of your baby using props like loveys', baskets, wraps, headbands, and floral touches. These sessions can take place either in my studio or in your home. If you choose an in-home posed session, there is an additional travel and setup fee to account for the time and care it takes to bring everything to you — including fabrics, lighting, posing cushions, and props. The result is a classic, softly lit gallery of images that highlight your baby in a variety of sweet, curated setups including the details. Please note: if you choose an in-home posed session and would like to include family or sibling images, those portions of the session will be photographed in a lifestyle approach using natural interactions in your home environment.

Lifestyle newborn sessions, on the other hand, are a more relaxed and natural way to document this special season. These can be done in your home or in Spark Studios, which is designed to feel warm and cozy, like a home setting. Lifestyle sessions focus on connection — snuggles on the bed, quiet moments in the nursery, or gentle cuddles on the couch. No props are used in lifestyle sessions. While 1–2 simple wraps may be included depending on the session booked, the emphasis is on emotion and authenticity rather than styling. When photographing baby alone, they’ll be gently placed in a crib, on a couch or bed, or in another natural spot within your home or the studio, allowing their surroundings and sweet details to tell the story.

No matter which session style you choose, you’ll walk away with beautiful, meaningful images that capture the magic of your baby’s first days — in a way that feels most like you.
